Using the app

To-Do List is a task management tool with an optional shared Group workspace. By creating an account you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for what happens under your account. Let us know if you think your account has been compromised.

Acceptable use

When using the Group workspace, comments, and suggestions features, don't post content that is illegal, harassing, hateful, or that violates someone else's rights. Don't try to abuse, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the app or other people's accounts or groups. We can suspend or remove access for accounts that violate this.

In a group, don't use assigning, suggesting, or handing off tasks to pressure or harass someone, and keep folder names, role names, and task text within the same rules.

Your content

You own the tasks, comments, and other content you create. You're responsible for what you post, especially in a shared group where other members can see it. This includes content you send through the Brain Dump chat (Dusty) and anything Dusty drafts, whether a new task, an edit to one of your existing tasks, a suggestion for a teammate, a task assigned to a teammate (including one that needs approval), a status or review decision, a folder, a role or access change in a group, or a comment on someone else's task, that you choose to review and confirm: once you confirm it, it's treated exactly as if you'd typed it yourself, and the same acceptable-use rules above apply to it. AI-drafted suggestions and edits can be wrong or inaccurate, review them before confirming.

Assigning tasks in a group

In a group, the owner, admins, and anyone they give that right to can put a task directly onto another member's list. If that happens to you, you can decline it for a short time after it's assigned (currently 15 minutes), or delete it later, and the person who assigned it is told either way. Owners and admins can also create roles and give a specific member extra access, such as assigning tasks or managing folders. Roles and access are labels and permissions inside that one group only. Owners and admins are responsible for how they use these tools.

Notifications, status, and approvals

The app tells you about things that concern you, such as a task being assigned or suggested to you, a comment or @mention, or a task being sent to you for review, in a notification bell, with desktop alerts if you allow them in your browser. If you leave a notification unread for a few minutes we may also email you about it, once the email feature is switched on; you can turn the email off in Settings. In a group, you can mark your own tasks In progress or Blocked, and the person who assigned a task can choose to require their approval before it counts as done. Status, reasons and review notes are visible to the whole group. Please keep what you write in comments, blocked reasons and review notes respectful and relevant to the work. Owners and admins are responsible for how they use the weekly team report, which is meant for running the team, not for judging individuals on a single number.

Leaving or deleting your account

You can leave any group at any time from its Group Settings, and you can permanently delete your account and data from Settings. A group's owner can delete the group, which removes it, its tasks, and every member's availability grid for everyone.

No warranty

This app is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep your data safe and the app working, but we can't guarantee it will always be available, error-free, or that data will never be lost.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Use it at your own discretion, and keep an export of anything you can't afford to lose.

Changes

We may update these terms as the app changes. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms. Meaningful changes will update the date at the top of this page.
